One sentence at a time
It's easy to get caught up in trying to write too many ideas at a time. Several short sentences about writing is a great book on writing. It tells you to focus entirely on the sentence.
A writer puts down words from their mind onto paper. One sentence at a time. But each sentence is crafted carefully. Most sentences need to be killed or fixed.
If the word doesn't serve a purpose, it doesn't need to be there. The words don't need to be complex. They don't need to prove anything. Unless they're there to serve a specific purpose.
Everything they taught you about wriiting in school was wrong. It's more about unlearning than learning. Schools teach you to write long, lengthy, verbose sentences. They reward you for using fancy words.
This doesn't do anything for the reader. Ideas are all that matter.
If a piece of writing is trying to tackle too many ideas, it gets confusing. Simple words, simple sentences, one at a time.
