Smartphone and the Hero's Journey
There is a lot written about smartphones and why they are bad for us.
They will all focus on the details, such as dopamine, neuroscience, and so on. There are apps created to control your screen time and block social media apps. But none of this gets to the bloodstream.
These are surface level concepts. It's like talking to someone who has been smoking their entire life. I'm not here to write about any of the harmful effects.
I don't think it matters.
Human beings are always searching for some something deeper in their lives, in everything we do. Even if they don't know it. There is a calling.
Everyone is craving to feel alive. Everyone has a calling, which has been given a thousand names. Everyone is searching for that something through out their lives. But are never able to find it.
There are many reasons why everyone is left in the search. Society and all of the forces of the world. They are not ill intentioned. But just like the movie Clockwork Orange, the noise quietly molds our brain.
